Following to the technology update from fluorescent lamps to LEDs, major companies in lighting industry, have tried to competitively offer market a standard based semi-structured product by setting LED chips on boards. Different parameters would be specified on LED boards (modules) based on Zhaga Standard including their dimension. What makes LED boards competitive is their “lm/w”, the utmost of would reach 175 lm/w in PHILIPS’ modules.
In order for LED boards to operative, the DC type of current is required with the specified Voltage and Amperage while the normal current flow in cities is of AC type with 220 V and 12~32 A; this would be fulfilled with “LED drivers” by supplying specified DC current in LED boards. The advanced types of drivers would cover several parameters in various boards.
